This half-term break has been a unique one—my last for a while at least. It’s been a mix of tying up loose ends, embracing change, and preparing for an exciting new chapter.

Wrapping Up at Work
Monday and Tuesday were spent at work, mainly focused on marking and planning to ensure I leave everything in order for the handover. On Tuesday, a few learners came in to catch up, and I was happy to support them. Both days, I finished earlier than usual since I had extra time to take back after doing evenings for our Year 11 taster sessions. It felt good to have a little breathing room in what would have otherwise been a packed schedule.

A Change of Scenery
Wednesday was a work-from-home day, which provided a refreshing change in scenery. It was nice to break from the usual routine and focus in a more relaxed setting.
Officially on Holiday
Thursday marked the start of my break, but it wasn’t entirely work-free. I visited the HR Idepartment at my new job to hand in some documents and my ID for the DBS check—one step closer to the transition. After that, I went swimming with my partner, followed by some house cleaning and much-needed relaxation.
Friday was a slower start, which I really appreciated. I had coffee with a friend to catch up, which was a lovely way to unwind. Later in the evening, I made it to the gym, keeping up with my fitness goals even amidst all the changes.

Weekend Adventures
Saturday was a mix of work and adventure. In the morning, I taught English online, and later, my partner and I set off on a little adventure—we climbed Pendle Hill. It was a challenge, to say the least, but the breathtaking scenery made every step worth it. And now, as I sit here writing this, I’m reflecting on what’s ahead.
Tomorrow, I’m off to the cinema with my mum to watch the new Bridget Jones movie, a nice way to wrap up the weekend before heading into my last week at the college.
Bittersweet Goodbyes and New Beginnings
As Monday approaches, I find myself feeling a mix of emotions. Leaving my learners and colleagues behind is undeniably bittersweet. It’s scary stepping into the unknown—a new job, new people, and a completely fresh environment. But at the same time, it’s incredibly exciting. This is an opportunity for growth, and I know it’s the right step forward.
So, here’s to my final week at college, making the most of the time I have left, and embracing the journey ahead!
